Underwater swimming pool lights: The phasing out of traditional light bulbs
On 1st September 2009 the EU started the mandatory phase out of 100W and frosted incandescent non-directional light bulbs. This new legislation to cut wasted energy and high electricity bills was agreed by EU Member States last December with support of the UK.
Due to this new legislation the Certikin Halogen 100W 11.5V Bulbs are affected and as they are ‘non directional’ and by law are due to be phased out by 2012, Certikin have now ceased the manufacturing of these. Therefore once existing stocks run out the Certikin Halogen Underwater Light will be unavailable.
We at Aspects are keen to cut down on the use of energy-inefficient products which cost people more money to run and are bad for the environment as they have higher carbon emissions. We will therefore try and switch our current customers away from less energy efficient lamps as soon as possible in order to comply with the regulations. This will also assist the UK in meeting carbon emissions targets, will reduce your swimming pool running costs and its carbon footprint.
